39 Bodies Found Inside UK Truck Container
UK police have launched a murder investigation after 39 bodies were found in a lorry container at Waterglade Industrial Park in Essex on Wednesday.
Essex Police said the people were all pronounced dead at the scene. Early indications suggest the victims are 38 adults and one teenager.
The lorry driver, a 25-year-old man from Northern Ireland, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. "We believe the lorry is from Bulgaria and entered the country at Holyhead on Saturday 19 October and we are working closely with our partners to investigate,” Essex Police said in a statement. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was "appalled" and sent his sympathies to the victims' families.

I’m appalled by this tragic incident in Essex. I am receiving regular updates and the Home Office will work closely with Essex Police as we establish exactly what has happened. My thoughts are with all those who lost their lives & their loved ones.
