New York: Two Pet Cats Test COVID-19 Positive
Two pet cats have contracted the coronavirus in New York, the epicentre of the disease in the United States. The US Health Department has confirmed this.

It is believed that the two cats got the infection from humans.

After it was revealed that the pet cats have been infected, there is an atmosphere of terror among people who have pet animals in their homes.

However, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Veterinary Services Lab have assured that for the moment, there is no need for routine tests of pet animals.

Both the pet cats live in different areas of New York and this is the first case in which the coronavirus infection has been found in pet animals.

The two cats were having difficulty breathing but now, there is hope that they will recover. In both houses, no coronavirus patient has been found so far.

Still, doctors believe that the cats have got the infection from coming into contact with a coronavirus-positive human.

The United States has become the new epicentre of the coronavirus in the world. Over here, over 8 lakh 49 thousand people have contracted the coronavirus so far and the death toll has crossed 47,000.

The US’ New York state is the worst-affected by the coronavirus onslaught. In the past few days, a tigress named Nadia in the Bronx Zoo here had also been found to be infected with the coronavirus.
