Brexit Approved: Britain To Exit European Union On
The roadblocks to Britain exiting the European Union (EU) have been cleared. On Thursday, the House of Commons of the British Parliament approved a proposal by Prime Minister Boris Johnson to leave the EU. There were 330 votes in favour of the proposal and 231 votes against it.

With the sanction on Brexit, Britain will become the first country to leave the EU on January 31 and with this, its 50-year EU membership will end. Britain had become part of the 28-member EU in 1973.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson had returned to power with heavy majority on the issue of Brexit last month, when Johnson’s Conservative Party had won 364 seats. Speaking on the major electoral victory, Johnson said that he will ensure that Brexit - which takes Britain out of the EU - is definitely approved by January 31.

In 2016, a Brexit referendum was held in Britain, in which 52% people were of the opinion that Britain should leave the EU, while 48% people wanted to stay on in the EU and were against Brexit.
