On the occasion of completing 100 days in office, the Modi 2.0 government called a press conference where Union minister Prakash Javdekar highlighted the key achievements - especially the abrogation of Article 370 and Triple Talaq Bill - in a report titled Furthering India's Development, 100 days of bold initiatives and decisive actions. The Congress party reacted by saying there has been no development in these 100 days and the country and Modi government is diverting people's attention from an economic crisis.

The biggest decision taken by the Modi government was to revoke Article 370 and Article 35A and to reconstitute the state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He further said that Pakistan knocked several doors including the United Nations, but the world stood by India.

After Javadekar's conference, the Congress launched an all-out attack on the Narendra Modi government. Congress leader Kapil Sibal pinned down the government on the dire state of the economy and employment. He said the PM Modi must explain why the economy is ailing.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi ridiculed the claims of the government. In a tweet, Gandhi “congratulated” Modi government on 100 days of “no development”, “continued subversion of democracy, a firmer stranglehold on a submissive media to drown out criticism and a glaring lack of leadership, direction and plans where it’s needed the most — to turnaround our ravaged economy”.

Taking a dig at the government, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi wrote a poem in Hindi: “After destroying the economy, the government is silent. Various companies are under crisis, the business has become stagnant. Through drama, deceit, lies and propaganda, hiding the grim situation of the country from the people.”
