After Maharashtra, Shiv Sena Says A 'Miracle' On T
It has not even been 24 hours since Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray was sworn in as the chief minister of Maharashtra and efforts have already begun for a coup d’etat in Goa. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said a Maharashtra like "miracle" is possible in Goa as the BJP-ally Goa Forward Party is forming an alliance with the Sena in the coastal state.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has said that he is holding talks with Goa Forward Party leader and former deputy CM Vijai Sardesai. Shiv Sena and Goa Forward Party are forming a coalition in Goa and soon, a ‘miracle’ will be seen there.

Meanwhile, Vijai Sardesai has created a stir in Goa politics by saying that some people from the Goa government are in touch with him.

Sanjay Raut, meanwhile, tweeted in a poetic style: "Like it can happen in the game of chess, we move in a way that even our pawn can defeat the King."

Although Sanjay Raut did not mention any person or party, the speculation is that the tweet was aimed at BJP.

At present, Goa has a BJP government. When the election results were announced in 2017, the Congress had emerged as the single-largest party with 17 seats in the 40-seat Goa assembly. The BJP had got only 13 seats, yet it was able to form the government as 12 Congress MLAs had defected to the BJP. The BJP then drew a lot of flak and was blamed for horse-trading of MLAs.

The BJP government in Goa has the support of 30 MLAs, out of which 27 are BJP MLAs while three are independents. The Opposition Congress has five MLAs and NCP has one. The Goa Forward Party has three MLAs and one MLA is from MGP.
