Bengaluru: Muslims Form Human Chain To Guard Templ
A group of Muslims gathered and formed a human chain around a temple in DG Halli police station limits in Bengaluru city late last night, to protect it from arsonists after violence erupted in the area.

Violence erupted in Bengaluru by posting controversial posts on social media after which three people were killed in the police firing, while 145 have been arrested so far. DG Halli and KG Halli of East Bangalore are the worst-affected areas where rioters set ablaze hundreds of vehicles but some people restored faith in humanity last night.

The person who posted the controversial post has been identified as Naveen, who is the nephew of Congress MLA Akhand Srinivas Murthy from Pulikeshi Nagar. As the angry mob vandalised the MLA's house, more Muslims from the area guarded the Hanuman temple near the MLA's house.

Many videos of late-night violence are now going viral on social media. One of these videos can be seen how the Muslim youth kept the Hanuman temple in a human chain and guarding it from the rioters. The entire incident is from DG Halli police station where violence and arson took place late on Tuesday night.

60 policemen have been injured in the violence and three people have died. In this case, the police have arrested 145 people so far, including Social Democratic Party leader Muzammil Pasha.

Bangalore City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said that the situation in the city is now under control. He informed that Section 144 has been implemented in the entire city including DJ Halli and KG Halli Police Station. He said that personnel of RAF or Rapid Action Force, CRPF and CISF have been deployed to maintain security in the city.
