Pollution is continuously increasing in Delhi-NCR. Even before firecrackers have not been burst, entire  Delhi is transformed into a smog of smoke before Diwali. Since Monday morning, there has been heavy smoke in many areas of Delhi, due to which people who exercise and walk daily have to face a lot of breathing problems.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) mobile app SAMEER, air pollution continue to be in the “severe” category as AQI hit 500 in the Delhi-NCR region.

Delhi’s Dwarka Sector 8 was the most polluted where AQI stood at 488 since morning, whereas AQI was recorded 486 in Vivek Vihar, 485 in Anand Vihar, 484 in Pratapganj area, 477 in ITO area, 474 at Delhi Airport, 473 in Lajpat Nagar, 470 in Mundka, 465 in Okhla Phase 2 and 468 in Wazirpur. The air pollution level in Gurugram was even better than Delhi. PM2.5 was recorded 501 in Gurugram's Sector 51, 489 in Vikas Sadan while AQI 484 was recorded in Manesar.

In Noida-Ghaziabad, it has become difficult for people to breathe due to pollution here. AQI 490 was recorded in Knowledge Park 5 of Greater Noida, AQI 481 in Noida Sector 62 and 478 in Sector 116, while Sanjay Nagar in Ghaziabad recorded the highest AQI of 486.

This, however, did not show significant improvement in air quality even though the smoke caused by the stubble burning was reduced.
