Congress Averts Rajasthan Crisis; BJP-led Manipur
The danger hovering over the Congress-led Rajasthan Government and the BJP-led Manipur Government has been averted.

On the one hand, BJP-led N Biren Singh's government survived after winning the confidence vote in the Manipur Assembly, on the other hand, the possibility of the fall of the Rajasthan government ended after Sachin Pilot returned to Congress.

Following a day-long debate in the Manipur Assembly, Chief Minister N Biren Singh moved a confidence motion and the BJP government won the trust vote by 28–16. The Congress had issued a whip for all its MLAs, but eight MLAs did not participate in the proceedings of the House, defying the party whip. The Congress has 24 MLAs in the 60-member Assembly of Manipur. After the resignation of three MLAs and disqualification of four MLAs under the anti-defection law, the House now has 53 members.

After the vote of confidence, the Congress suffered another major setback when 6 Congress MLAs resigned. It will be interesting to see what will be the next stance of the MLAs who resigned.

Earlier on June 17, the BJP government in Manipur plunged into a political crisis when three party MLAs joined the Congress. Soon after, four ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister Y Joy Kumar Singh from the National Peoples’ Party (NPP) and one Independent MLA from the Trinamool Congress, withdrew their support from the government. On the other hand, Congress took these 9 MLAs in its favour and formed a coalition called the Secular Progressive Front.

However, after this BJP leader and Assam government minister Hemanta Biswa Sharma, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma along with the rebel MLAs met with Union Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda, after which the rebel MLAs again supported the BJP government.

On the other hand, the Congress-led Rajasthan Government crisis has been averted. After meeting Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi on Monday, Sachin Pilot has returned to the Party fold. The Congress has assured Pilot that all the issues raised by Pilot and his camp of MLAs will be resolved. A three-member committee with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, senior leaders Ahmed Patel and KC Venugopal has been formed to address their grievances have been kept in this committee.

Late on Monday night, Congress leader Sachin Pilot thanked the Congress high command.

For over a month, Sachin Pilot was angry with Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot. After which he skilled the Congress Legislative party meet along with his 18 rebel MLAs. The Congress high command gave many opportunities but if Sachin Pilot did not agree, after which the party sacked him from the post of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress President and the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
