‘Criminals Ruling UP’: Opposition Slams Yogi Government Over Unabated Crime Wave

The Opposition has put the ruling BJP government in a spot after a 14-year-old minor was killed following his kidnapping and the UP Police did not prevent the incident from happening.

Former CM Mayawati said, 'The law and order in UP is deteriorating and criminals are ruling the State. If the Government wants to improve the situation, CM Yogi Adityanath should learn from the BSP without hesitation. Mayawati reminded that she has been the Chief Minister of the State four times and the law system was stable then.

Priyanka Gandhi, in-charge of UP Congress, tweeted that has the UP chief stopped watching the news? Do these reports not go before the people sitting in the Home Department? Every day new records of Gundaraj are being set in UP. The kidnapping incident has occurred in CM's hometown.

Former CM and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav also attacked CM Yogi Adityanath by tweeting, “The news of the murder of the kidnapped child from Gorakhpur is very painful and sad. Condolences to the bereaved family. Despite the constant kidnappings and murders, the shameless silence and inaction of the BJP government are under question”.

AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also cornered the UP government over the unabated crime wave. “There is a wave of crimes in UP. One incident does not end, another comes. What was promised? What have you done, Yogiji?”

As usual, CM Yogi Adityanath has given a lollipop of action under the NSA to the accused but has kept silence on the rising crime. In recent times, this is the third kidnapping in UP and the second murder case after the kidnapping. Statistics from the National Crime Records Bureau show that there has been an increase in crime after Yogi Adityanath took the command of UP.
