Delhi: Gang Running Fake Ayushman Bharat Yojana We
The Delhi Police has busted a gang running a fake website on the pretext of providing jobs under the Centre’s flagship Ayushmann Bharat scheme.

Four people — Umesh, Rajat, Gaurav and Seema Rani Sharma — have been arrested for allegedly duping over 4,200 people. The Police also recovered a laptop, four mobile phones and ATM cards from them.

"On interrogation, the accused persons revealed that they hatched a conspiracy to dupe people in the name of Ayushman Scheme. In this regard, they first formed a trust in the name of Ayushman Yojana Trust and designed a website impersonating as a genuine government website," the police said in a statement.

Through the website, the accused received online payments from people as registration charges.

When asked about their job status, the applicants said that their money is currently being used for the COVID-19 victims. The racket had advertised 5,116 jobs on its website in six states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Bihar. Upon seeing the ads, people got duped in the racket and kept depositing money in the accused’s account.
