JJP Makes Pitch For CM Post In Haryana, Cong Offers Deputy CM

In a setback for the BJP in Haryana, latest trends suggest that the party will be short of a majority. Dushyant Chautala’s Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) is likely to act as the kingmaker in the assembly polls.
After early trends, the JJP has reached out to the Congress, demanding the chief minister post. However, the Congress is ready to give the Deputy CM post to Chautala.
According to the latest data, BJP now leads in 38 out of 90 seats with Congress ahead in 29 seats. The 10-month old JJP is leading in 11 seats and others leading in 11 seats. Emboldened by the party's lead in 11 seats in Haryana, JJP's Dushyant Chautala says, "They used to call us a party of children and now the BJP’s stalwarts are seen losing their seats.” “Voters in Haryana have refused to hand over the keys of power to the BJP again. Haryana wants change,” he stated.
