HC Pulls UP Delhi Govt For Relaxing COVID-19 Norms
The Delhi High Court has pulled up the Delhi government for its frequent relaxations in COVID-19 norms, at a time when cases are rapidly rising in Delhi with each passing day.

The HC has also sought a detailed status report from the Delhi Government.


The Delhi government has recently increased the number to attend weddings and celebrations from 50 to 200.

Only 20 people were allowed to travel in buses used for public transport, but this order was cancelled in October. As per the revised order, passengers can sit on all seats of buses but ban continues to remain on travelling in standing position.

The Delhi High Court also questioned the need behind relaxing the COVID-19 rules while there is a growing record of Coronavirus cases every day.

The government also have to inform the court the reasons behind the rapid surge in infections in the capital over the last 2 weeks, and the steps taken by the government so far to prevent the cases.

Records tumble after Delhi recorded the biggest single-day spike of cases.  Over the last 24 hours, more than 8,500 cases were reported and 85 lives were lost.

Active cases in Delhi have crossed 42,000 while the total infections stand at 4,59,975, of which 4,10,118 have been discharged while 7,228 deaths have been reported so far.
