Heavy Security Ahead Of Republic Day
India will celebrate its 71st Republic Day on January 26. In light of this, security has been beefed up across the country, including in the capital Delhi.

A strict watch is being kept on the movement of people and police personnel are continuously monitoring people at railway stations and bus stands.

Jammu and Kashmir is also on alert on account of January 26 and there is heavy security deployment everywhere in the state.

While the number of security personnel has been increased on police posts, mobile police vans are doing the rounds in cities. Search operations are also underway and any suspicious person is being questioned.

Security officials say that solid arrangements have been made to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.

Meanwhile, near Rajpath, in capital Delhi, a multi-layer security cordon has been put in place. Commandos from the NSG, SPG and ITBP have been deployed for the safety of the Republic Day Parade and VVIPs.

Along with 22,000 Delhi Police personnel, 48 companies of the Armed Police Force have been stationed in Delhi.

More than 1,000 CCTV cameras have been installed on the route of the parade. In view of security, the Delhi border has been sealed from the night of January 25, so that no untoward incident takes place.
