Indians Distancing Themselves From Food Delivery G
Online food delivery companies have opened new avenues of employment and sharing but the coronavirus outbreak is hitting them hard too.

Amid the economic slowdown, the coronavirus is adversely affecting online food delivery companies as well. Orders for prominent food delivery companies such as Zomato and Swiggy have declined because customers do not want to come into contact with the delivery staff.

Delivery staff mostly stays outside and comes into contact with several people. The terror of contracting the coronavirus from coming into contact with delivery staff is growing among customers of food delivery companies like Zomato and Swiggy. Given this, orders of online food delivery have seen a reduction.

The shocking thing is that delivery staff are arranging essential items like masks, gloves and sanitisers on their own.

Deepinder Goyal, founder of Zomato, posted a tweet saying that Zomato has begun contactless food delivery service, which is functional in more than 15 cities at present.

Swiggy has also released a statement for its customers saying that its delivery partners are being given training to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. Swiggy has also said that if customers do not want to accept food from delivery staff, then it can be left at their doorsteps.
