Kamal Nath Threatens Hunger Strike Over Non-Paymen
Lakhs of hectares of crop has been destroyed due to record monsoon rains in Madhya Pradesh this year. According to the Madhya Pradesh (M.P.) government, there has been a loss of Rs 16,000 crore due to rainfall and floods this year, but the central government is not releasing funds.

The Madhya Pradesh government has warned that if the relief package is not released soon, then the Chief Minister (C.M.) will be forced to go on a hunger strike in Delhi. This year, there was 46% more rainfall than normal in M.P. and the direct impact of this was felt on agriculture and on lakhs of farmers.


According to the M.P. government, out of 149.35 lakh hectare kharif crop in the state, 60.52 lakh hectare crop was destroyed and around 55.36 lakh farmers have been affected.
