Kanpur Encounter: Infamous History Sheeter Vikas D
Even after more than 24 hours, infamous history-sheeter and the main accused in the killing of eight police personnel in UP’s Kanpur, Vikas Dubey, is still on the run.

Many Police teams are raiding from Kanpur to Lucknow, but no clue has been found yet. The UP police have also announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his arrest.

Vikas Dubey's mother Sarala Devi said that her son “should surrender himself before police”. She added: “If he continues to remain at large, police may kill him in the encounter. I say kill him even if you (police) manage to catch him because what he has done is very wrong”.

In a hall of shame, questions have been raised over the UP police. It is alleged that the officers of UP Police tipped-off the gangster due to which the policemen were killed and Vikas Dubey managed to escape.

The high profile encounter took place under the jurisdiction of Chaubepur police station whose SO is Vinay Tiwari. It is alleged that there was a close relationship between the SO and Vikas. A team of UPSTF is interrogating Vinay Tiwari whether he has passed on any information against his department. STF is also exploring why SO Vinay Tiwari was behind instead of being on the front during the encounter. Media reports have also claimed that Vikas used to visit the SO Tiwari’s residence as well.
