Manipur COVID-19 Free, Kerala Gets Back On Track
After Goa, now Manipur’s Chief Minister N Biren Singh has announced that his state is totally free of the coronavirus outbreak.

He posted a tweet, “I am glad to share that Manipur is now coronavirus-free. Both coronavirus patients have recovered and their test reports have come out negative. There is no fresh coronavirus case in the state now. This has been possible due to strict restrictions imposed by the state government, and the mutual coordination and assistance between the medical staff and common people.”

The coronavirus has hit more or less all states and Union territories of the country. But only a few, sporadic cases have come to light in some states.

Like Manipur, now Goa is also coronavirus-free. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has informed that the test reports of all seven coronavirus patients in the state have come out negative.

The first coronavirus case in the country had been reported in Kerala, where the total number of patients has reached 400. Despite this, the Kerala government has managed to defeat the epidemic.

While 257 patients have been sent home after treatment here, only three people have succumbed to the illness. According to the Pinarayi Vijayan government, the credit for this goes to the state’s health infrastructure and its strong network of Primary Health Centres.

Under the concessions to be granted from April 20, the Kerala government has ordered the opening of small factories, restaurants, barber and stationery shops. Short-distance buses have also begun plying in cities and towns.

However, the Home Ministry has said that so much leeway amounts to a violation of lockdown guidelines and has expressed its displeasure.

But Kadakampally Surendran, a Minister in the Kerala government, has said that all concessions have been given keeping in mind the Central government’s rules. The Centre has asked for an explanation due to some misunderstanding, which will soon be resolved by providing an answer, he added.
