NRC Assam Final List Released, 19 Lakh Excluded
Home Ministry has released the final list of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam on Saturday.
While, three crore eleven lakh people are fortunate enough to see their names on the list, there are 19 lakh people whose names have been ousted out. Sec 144 has been imposed in sensitive areas including Guwahati.
While many celebrate after they found their names on the list, those whose names have been excluded are uncertain regarding their future. NRC’s State Coordinator, Prateek Hajela says, those whose names donot feature in the list can further appeal to the Foreigners Tribunals.
