Noted poet and lyricist Rahat Indori died on Tuesday of cardiac arrest, aged 70, after being tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He was admitted to the Aurobindo Hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Indore.

Indori himself tweeted and informed about his condition earlier in the day. He wrote - ‘My corona test was done yesterday after the onset of symptoms of COVID-19, which has been reported positive. I am admitted in Aurobindo Hospital.’ 


Indore is the worst affected city in Madhya Pradesh. There are a total of 8,724 patients in Indore, out of which 2,430 are still active while 333 people have succumbed to it. At the same time, 5,961 people have recovered and gone home. So far, 39,891 people have been infected in Madhya Pradesh and 1,015 people have died. There are still 9,202 active cases in the state and 29,674 people have returned home after recovering.
