Pragya Thakur Apologises For Godse Remark In Parliament

In the wake of calling Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse ‘a patriot’, BJP MP Pragya Thakur on Friday tendered an apology in Lok Sabha and objected to ‘a member of the House’ dubbing her a ‘terrorist’.
"If I have hurt anyone with my comments, I regret and tender my apology," she said, without taking Godse's name.
“But my point was misrepresented and misquoted. I was called a terrorist. There is no evidence against me,” she said, triggering massive uproar in opposition benches.

The Bhopal MP also attacked a ‘member of the House’ for calling her a ‘terrorist’. She said she was dubbed as a terrorist despite being acquitted by a court. “A member of the House referred to me as ‘terrorist’. It is an attack on my dignity. No charges against me have been proven in court,” she said. Rahul Gandhi on Thursday had called in a tweet Thakur a “terrorist”. "Terrorist Pragya calls terrorist Godse, a patriot. A sad day in the history of India’s Parliament," Gandhi tweeted. After facing a lot of flak, @BJP4India MP #PragyaSinghThakur apologises for her #Godse remark in #Parliament but has also hit out at those who called her #terrorist
