A major decision was taken in a Real Estate Regulatory Authority(RERA) meeting on Wednesday. Amrapali, a company accused of cheating thousands of homebuyers in the NCR region, has been added to the Defaulter list by RERA.

All 43 projects of the company have been canceled. In the meeting, it was ordered that the name of the builder be put in the defaulter list and the photo of the owners of the group should be put on the website.

In the meeting, it was decided that all the ongoing Amrapali projects in Uttar Pradesh shall be halted. It will also prevent access to the builder’s projects on RERA’s website.

This step has been taken by RERA after the Supreme Court’s order in which NBCC was asked to complete the projects of the builder. Also, the Supreme Court has given the responsibility to NBCC for the completion of the unfinished projects of JP Infratech

Amrapali has more than two dozen cases filed against them in Noida & Greater Noida. Amrapali Group chairman Anil Sharma is accused of Rs 3000 crore fraud.
