Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan's name has also been added in the list of political figures who have tested positive for Coronavirus.

Taking to Twitter, Chouhan said: “I was showing symptoms of Covid-19. I went through the tests and the results have proven to be positive. I urge all those who came in contact with me in recent days to get themselves tested. All those close to me should go into quarantine.


After coming corona report positive, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan will not attend the corona review meeting to be held in the evening. He said that in his absence, the meeting will be reviewed by Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Urban Development and Administration Minister Bhupendra Singh, besides Vishwas Sarang and Prabhuram Chaudhary. He also said that along with his treatment, he will make every possible effort to control the corona in the province.

After the news, former CM Kamal Nath prayed for his speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, former CM Digvijaya Singh expressed sorrow, along with taking a dig at Shivraj Singh Chouhan. 

Earlier on Wednesday night, Coronavirus report of Cooperative and Public Service Management Minister Arvind Bhadoria in the Government of Madhya Pradesh came positive and on Wednesday he was in the cabinet meeting. During this, he met many ministers including CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Arvind Bhadoria had recently attended the funeral of Governor Lalji Tandon in Lucknow along with CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan. It is believed that CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been infected only after coming in contact with Minister Arvind Bhadoria.

The BJP government ministers are campaigning constantly about the by-elections to be held in Madhya Pradesh, flouting physical distancing rules. This is not the first time a BJP leader in Madhya Pradesh has been infected with Corona. Apart from CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Minister Arvind Bhadoria, Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, five BJP MLAs Om Prakash Saklecha, Rakesh Giri, Sirmaur, Divyaraj Singh and Nina Verma have been found infected.
