Uddhav Thackeray To Take Oath As Chief Minister To
After a month-long political upheaval, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will take oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra at Mumbai's Shivaji Park on Thursday. Along with Thackeray, two leaders of each of the three parties will take oath as ministers, said NCP leader Praful Patel. There will be only one deputy CM's post in the government, he added.

The oath-taking ceremony will take place at 6.40 pm.


Many veterans including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi have been invited for the swearing-in ceremony. Also, Chief Ministers of Delhi, West Bengal, Rajasthan, MP, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Bihar have also been invited.

Around 400 farmers from various districts of Maharashtra have been invited for the swearing-in ceremony.

"Around 400 farmers from various districts of Maharashtra have been invited for Uddhav Thackeray's swearing-in ceremony tomorrow. To give respect to the farmers, family members of those farmers who committed suicide have also been invited," Sena leader Vinayak Raut said.

Thackeray will be the first member of the Thackeray family to become Maharashtra Chief Minister. He as chief minister is preceded by Shiv Sena's Manohar Joshi in 1995 and Narayan Rane in 1999.

While NCP will get Deputy CM's post, Congress is to get Speaker's post. The cabinet will expand after the confidence vote in the assembly.
