Unseasonal Rain And Hail Destroy Standing Crops
 Unseasonal rain accompanied by hail has destroyed standing crops across northIndia. The farming community already under duress now faces an uphill task as there are no signs of relief or compensation from the government.

The wheat crop has suffered the worst damage from heavy rainfall and hailstorm in north India and it has been almost completely destroyed. Farmers say that there had been a good crop this year and they were getting ready to harvest it after Holi but the continuous rainfall has caused conditions to completely worsen.


Standing crops in several states of north India have suffered severe damage due to the heavy rainfall and hailstorm which has been going on for the past few days. Among these states are Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. 

Several crops, along with wheat and mustard, have suffered damage and the wheat crop has been the worst affected. The wheat crop has almost completely been destroyed in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur.

Farmers are a worried lot on account of the continuing unseasonal rains and hailstorm. They say that their year-long savings have been washed out due to the damage suffered by the wheat crop and now, they can only hope for some help from the government.

Unseasonal rains have been going on continuously for the past month. According to farmers, there had been a good crop this year and they were getting ready to harvest it after Holi but the situation has totally worsened due to the ongoing rainfall.
