2,155 Dead Due To Rainfall & Floods Across The Country

This year, to date, 2,155 people have died due to floods and rains in the country, while 45 people are still missing. Apart from this, more than 26 lakh people have been affected due to floods and rainfall.

This year, heavy rains and floods have caused widespread destruction in many states in the country. On Friday, the Home Ministry said that this year, due to floods and rains, 2,155 people have died in 22 states of the country. Also, 45 people are still missing.

Meanwhile, 803 people have been injured across the country due to rainfall and floods. 

The highest number of deaths due to floods have been recorded in Maharashtra, Karnataka and West Bengal.

While there were 430 deaths due to floods in Maharashtra, 285 people in Karnataka and 227 people in West Bengal died due to floods.

Meanwhile, there were 192 deaths in Gujarat, 189 deaths in Madhya Pradesh, 181 deaths in Kerala, 166 deaths in Bihar and 101 deaths in Assam due to floods.

Apart from this, more than 26 lakh people have been affected due to rainfall and floods in 361 districts of 22 states.
