4 National Level Hockey Players Killed In MP Road Accident

Four national-level hockey players were killed in a car accident in Madhya Pradesh on Monday morning. Three other players were severely injured in the accident.

The accident took place in Hoshangabad when the fast-moving car they were travelling in crashed into a tree.


All four deceased had arrived to participate in the Dhyan Chand Hockey Tournament. A total of seven hockey players were travelling in the car. All the players were going to Itarsi from Hoshangabad, when their car lost control and rammed into a tree. After crashing into the tree, the car turned over and landed on the side of the road.

The injured were promptly taken to a hospital where four players died during treatment. The condition of one of the three injured players is stated to be critical. 

All seven players belonged to Madhya Pradesh and had been practising in the Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy in the past few months.

The district police say they have begun an investigation into the case.
