After Jamia, Man Opens Fire Near Shaheen Bagh Anti-CAA Protest Site
An unidentified gunman opened fire in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh area, the main protest site of the anti-CAA protest which entered day 49 on Saturday. No one has been injured and the police took the gunman into custody.
A video doing the rounds on social media showed the man chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ while getting detained.
Two days ago, a gun-wielding man had fired shots on protesters near the Jamia Milia University, injuring one varsity student, Shadaab Alam. The man who opened fire has been identified as Gopal, who was calling himself a ‘Ram Bhakt’. The accused has been sent to 14-day police custody. The firings come at a time when MoS Finance Anurag Thakur on Monday repeatedly raised the slogan of ‘Desh Ke gaddaron ko’ with the crowd responding with “goli maaro salon ko”.
