Air Quality Plummets Further In Delhi-NCR
People in Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) may have entered the New Year 2020 but there seems to be no respite for them from air pollution, which remains at last year’s levels.

On Friday, the third day of the year 2020, Air Quality Index (AQI) in several areas of Delhi-NCR remained above 450, at dangerously-polluted levels. Meanwhile, people say that they have to face many difficulties due to the growing pollution.


The most polluted area in Delhi on Friday was Mathura Road, where PM2.5 was 540 and PM10 was 499. In Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area, PM2.5 was 429 and PM10 was 460. Near Delhi airport, PM2.5 was 420 and PM10 was 405. At Delhi airport, PM2.5 was 429 and PM10 was 377. In Lodhi Road area, PM2.5 was 407 and PM10 was 342. In Noida, on Friday morning, PM2.5 was 429 and PM10 was 369.

According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), AQI in Delhi-NCR could remain above 400 on Saturday too.
