Aligarh: Patient Beaten To Death By Hospital Staff
The staff of a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh has been accused of beating a patient to death on Thursday over non-payment of the hospital bill.

Prima facie, it is learned that NB Hospital paid the patient Sultan Khan a bill of Rs 4000 which he was unable to pay. After this, a scuffle broke out outside the hospital and Sultan was allegedly attacked by the hospital staff with sticks, after which he died. The footage of assault has been recorded in CCTV.

Chaman Khan, a relative, said that Sultan was facing problem while urinating, so he went to NB Hospital in Kwarsi for a check-up.

Here he paid Rs 3783 for medicines but was asked to pay a further Rs 4000 at the counter for “visiting” the hospital.

The hospital said that it is a fee for admission, but according to Chaman, Sultan was not admitted to the hospital. According to the CCTV footage, when Sultan was going out of the hospital, the staff assaulted him and then attacked him with sticks. In the attack, Sultan suffered a head injury and he died.

Aligarh SP City Abhishek Kumar said that further action will be taken once the post-mortem report comes.

However, this is not the first case of such serious allegations against private hospitals. Recently, an 80-year-old elderly patient was tied to a bed in a hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur district over non-payment of hospital bills.
