Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat has said that terrorists have recently become active again in Pakistan’s Balakot area. This points to the fact that there had been a definite impact of the Indian Air Force’s airstrikes on Balakot terrorist camps in February. The airstrike had rendered the terrorist infrastructure useless, but now terror activities have resumed.

Rawat also said that since Article 370 has been abrogated, Pakistan has increased attempts at infiltration of terrorists into India. Pakistan repeatedly violates ceasefire along the Line of Control bordering Jammu and Kashmir so that, using that as a front, it can infiltrate terrorists across the border into India.

This statement by Rawat acquires significance because, in February, the Indian Air Force had carried out airstrikes in Balakot in retaliation for the Pulwama attacks, and claimed to have destroyed terrorist camps there. However, the situation seems to have returned to normal there within a few months.
