Ayodhya Land Dispute Case Hearing Enters Last Leg

The SupremeCourt will be hearing the last leg of AyodhyaLandDispute case for the next four days starting today. The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed Section 144 in Ayodhya till December 10 in anticipation of tensions between the Hindu and Muslim communities.

The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court will hear the case on its 38th day and this will be the last week for the hearing.


Meanwhile, before the last leg of hearings, the district administration has imposed Section 144 in the district till December 10 and converted it into a fortress. Ayodhya DM Anuj Kumar Jha said that this decision was taken keeping in mind the forthcoming festival season.

The Supreme Court has already clarified that after October 18, there will be no hearings on the Babri Masjid Ayodhya matter and therefore, now there are only five days’ of hearings left in the case.
