BJP’s Assam Unit ‘Unhappy’ With The Final NRC List
Home Ministry has released the final list of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam on Saturday.
While, three crore eleven lakh people are fortunate enough to see their names on the list, there are 19 lakh people whose names have been ousted out. Sec 144 has been imposed in sensitive areas including Guwahati.
"A total of 3, 30,27,661 people had applied to be included in the NRC. Of them, 3,11,21,004 found mention in the document while 19,06,657 individuals were excluded," a statement from the NRC State Coordinator's office said in Guwahati.

Assam BJP minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma & All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) expressed dissatisfaction over the final NRC list.
