Chhat Puja Commences
AAP and BJP workers clashed over the designation of a Chhath Puja ghat in Delhi's Kalkaji area, leading to a sit-in protest by AAP members on Thursday. With ‘nahai khai’, Chhath Puja has begun in the entire country with 1,100 ghats being readied in Delhi alone.

Meanwhile, in Patna, 22 ghats have been declared dangerous and have been closed.

The first day of this festival is for ‘nahai khai’. On November 2 and 3, Chhath Puja will be done on ghats. Chhath is dedicated to the sun god.

Women keep a fast for the good health of their families and for improvement in their economic condition.

This year, Chhath begins on October 31 and ends on November 3. This festival is celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and some areas of Nepal.

Meanwhile, in Patna, Chhath ghats have been divided into two zones. In the first list are those ghats where all facilities for Chhath Puja are available, while in the second list are those ghats which are dangerous and where risk still prevails after flooding.
