Amid the prevailing border tension with China in eastern Ladakh, the Chinese Army has allegedly kidnapped five Indian civilians in the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh.

According to the Arunachal Times, the People's Liberation Army of China has kidnapped five Indian nationals from Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday. During this time, two Indian citizens managed to escape.


The Arunachal Times quoted family of abducted Indians as claiming five persons belonging to the Tagin tribe while they went out hunting near Nacho village. They have been identified as Toch Singkam, Prasat Ringling, Dongtu Ebiya, Tanu Baker and Ngaru Diri.

However, two other villagers, who were in the hunting group, managed to flee the Chinese Army and narrated the incident before everyone.

The incident has created panic among the villagers of Nacho. The families of abducted villagers have appealed for steps to be taken immediately for the release of the kidnapped people.

Former Congress MP from Arunachal Pradesh and sitting MLA Ninong Ering has tweeted tagging the PMO that the Chinese soldiers have done similar incident in the past as well and now they should be given a befitting reply.
