Cinema Halls, Multiplexes Open In Maharashtra, Delhi-Shimla Bus Services Resume
Cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes in Maharashtra reopened on Thursday with 50% capacity after being closed for over seven months in view of the Coronavirus pandemic and the resulting lockdown. The Maharashtra government announced that theatres, playhouses, multiplexes, swimming pools and yoga institutes located outside the Containment Zones are allowed to function with conditions from Thursday.
Also, no eatables of any kind are allowed inside the cinema halls, nor will people be able to take any kind of food or beverages inside.
Besides, yoga institutes, badminton halls, tennis, squash courts, indoor shooting ranges would also open from Thursday. The govt guidelines said that during this time it will be mandatory to ensure thermal scanning, physical distancing and sanitisation in all these institutions. Actually, all these institutions have been closed since the lockdown was implemented in March to prevent the stem of the Coronavirus. Earlier last month, permission was given to reopen hotels and bars in the state. According to the new government guidelines, swimming pools used for training of state, national and international players and swimming bridges located outside the restricted areas will also be reopened on November 5. The remaining lockdown restrictions have already been extended until November 30. Earlier, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Monday that there is no possibility of a second wave of COVID-19 in the state. He said that if such situations arise, Maharashtra is ready to deal with it. Regarding places of worship, he said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will take a decision to open the temples when the right time comes. Apart from this, bus services from other states were closed in many states of the country, but now slowly state governments are busy in restoring bus services. Meanwhile, in view of the festive season, Delhi-Shimla bus services have resumed in Unlock 6 from Wednesday evening, though a very small number of buses are being operated now. There are a total of 140 routes from Himachal Pradesh to Delhi, but in view of the Corona crisis, only 21 routes are functioning. Ramanand Thakur, in-charge of HRTC at ISBT Shimla said, "All the ordinary buses will be sent to Delhi. It is a good initiative that the buses have started operating ahead of the festive season."
