CJI Reiterates October 18 As Deadline For Ram Janm

The Supreme Court has fixed October 18 as the deadline for hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case. Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi has made it clear that all parties should complete their arguments before October 18, adding that they won’t be given an extra day for arguments.

Meanwhile, the hearing for both parties will be held in the Supreme Court until October 4. The apex court will remain closed for the Dussehra holidays from October 5 to 13. The hearing will resume from October 14 to 18. In this light, both parties now have only 10 days left for hearings.

Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi’s term in office ends on November 17. It is being said that Gogoi is likely to announce the judgment before his retirement. The Supreme Court has, meanwhile, said that if after the hearing, the judgment is delivered in the next four weeks, it will be nothing short of a miracle.
