Coronavirus In India: Almost 2 Lakh Cases And 7500
Coronavirus infections are spiralling out of control across the country. The measures taken by the Central and State Governments to stem the spread of COVID-19 are showing no effect.

After April and May, the COVID-19 curve has been continuously rising in June. On average, 10,000 cases have been reported every day in June.


According to Health Ministry’s latest bulletin, 14,516 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours — the largest spike so far — and 375 deaths, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 395,048 while the death toll is close to 13,000.

Meanwhile, active cases stand at 1,68,269 while recoveries are at 2,13,269.

On June 1, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country was 198,706, but on June 20, it has inched closer to 4 lakh. That is, about 2 lakh new cases were reported in the last 20 days.

Similarly, the death toll on June 1 was 5,598, which has increased to 12,948 on June 20. That is, 7,350 deaths occurred in the last 20 days, i.e., 367 deaths on an average.
