With record 8,392 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, India cases have mounted to 190,535 and the death toll is at 5,394. According to Health Ministry data at 8 am on Monday, there are 93,322 active cases and 91,818 people have recovered.

At 2,286, the highest number of deaths in the country were reported in Maharashtra, where 67,655 cases have come to light and 29,329 people have recovered too. Tamil Nadu is the second worst-affected state with 22,333 cases, 173 deaths and 12,757 recoveries, followed by Gujarat.


In Gujarat, 1,038 people have died so far, while 9,919 people have been discharged and the total number of patients is 16,779.

Delhi, for the fourth straight day, breached the 1000 mark of daily COVID-19 count, taking the state total to 19,844 cases. While the Capital has reported 473 deaths, 8,478 patients have recovered.

In Madhya Pradesh, there have been 350 deaths. The total number of patients here is 8,089 and 4,842 patients have been discharged. 

In West Bengal, 317 people have lost their lives so far. While 2,157 people have recovered here, 5,501 people have contracted the coronavirus.

There have been 213 deaths in Uttar Pradesh. Over here, 7,823 cases have been reported and 4,709 patients have recovered.

In Rajasthan, 194 people have lost their lives so far. While 5,927 people have recovered here, 8,831 people have contracted the coronavirus.

In Telangana, 82 people have lost their lives so far. While 2,698 people have contracted the virus, 1,428 people have recovered.

In Andhra Pradesh, there have been 62 deaths. The total number of patients here is 3,679 and 2,349 patients have been discharged.

In Karnataka, 51 people have died, with 3,221 cases and 1,218 recoveries have been reported.

There have been 45 deaths in Punjab. While 1,987 people have recovered here, the total number of patients is 2,263.

In Jammu and Kashmir, 28 people have lost their lives so far. While 927 people have recovered, 2,446 people have contracted the illness.

Bihar COVID-19 deaths are at 21, recoveries at 1,710 and cases at 3,815.

Haryana has reported 20 deaths, 1,048 recoveries and 2,091 coronavirus cases.

In Kerala, there have been 9 deaths, 590 recoveries and 1,269 cases.

Odisha has registered 7 deaths, 1,126 recoveries and 1,948 cases.

Himachal Pradesh has reported five deaths, with 295 cases and 87 recoveries.

There have been five deaths in Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh. Total cases stand at 907 in Uttarakhand, 610 in Jharkhand and 331 in Himachal whereas 102 in Uttarakhand, 256 in Jharkhand and 120 in Himachal have been discharged.

Four COVID-19 deaths have been registered in Assam and Chandigarh. While there are 1,272 cases in Assam and 293 in Chandigarh, recoveries stand at 185 in Assam and 199 in Chandigarh respectively.

Besides, Meghalaya and Chhattisgarh has reported one death each.

The coronavirus has hit 33 states and union territories across the country so far and the number of patients is increasing rapidly.
