COVID-19 State-Wise Data: Delhi Records Over 1,000
With record 7,466 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, India cases have mounted to 165,799 and the death toll is at 4,706. According to Health Ministry data at 8 am on Friday, there are 89,987 active cases and 71,105 people have recovered.

At 1,982, the highest number of deaths in the country were reported in Maharashtra, where 59,546 cases have come to light and 18,616 people have recovered too. Tamil Nadu is the second worst-affected state with 19,372 cases, 145 deaths and 10,548 recoveries, followed by Gujarat.


In Gujarat, 960 people have died so far, while 8,003 people have been discharged and the total number of patients is 15,562.

In Madhya Pradesh, there have been 321 deaths. The total number of patients here is 7,453 and 4,050 patients have been discharged. 

In Delhi, as many as 1,024 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours — breaching the 1000 mark for the first time, taking the state total to 16,281 cases. While the state has reported 316 deaths, 7,495 patients have recovered. 

In West Bengal, 295 people have lost their lives so far. While 1,668 people have recovered here, 4,536 people have contracted the coronavirus.

There have been 197 deaths in Uttar Pradesh. Over here, 7,170 cases have been reported and 4,215 patients have recovered.

In Rajasthan, 180 people have lost their lives so far. While 4,817 people have recovered here, 8,067 people have contracted the coronavirus.

In Telangana, 67 people have lost their lives so far. While 2,256 people have contracted the virus, 1,345 people have recovered.

In Andhra Pradesh, there have been 59 deaths. The total number of patients here is 3,251 and 2,125 patients have been discharged.

In Karnataka, 47 people have died, with 2,533 cases and 834 recoveries have been reported.

There have been 40 deaths in Punjab. While 1,946 people have recovered here, the total number of patients is 2,158.

In Jammu and Kashmir, 27 people have lost their lives so far. While 859 people have recovered, 2,036 people have contracted the illness.

Haryana has reported 19 deaths, 881 recoveries and 1,504 coronavirus cases.

Bihar COVID-19 deaths are at 15, recoveries at 1,211 and cases at 3,296.

Odisha has registered 7 deaths, 887 recoveries and 1,660 cases.

In Kerala, there have been 7 deaths, 555 recoveries and 1,088 cases.

Himachal Pradesh has reported five deaths, with 276 cases and 70 recoveries.

There have been four deaths in Assam, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Chandigarh. Total cases stand at 856 in Assam, 500 in Jharkhand, 469 in Uttarakhand, 288 in Chandigarh, whereas 104 in Assam, 212 in Jharkhand, 79 in Uttarakhand and 189 in Chandigarh have been discharged.

Besides, Meghalaya has reported one death each.

The coronavirus has hit 33 states and union territories across the country so far and the number of patients is increasing rapidly.
