Day 48: Anti-CAA Protest At Shaheen Bagh

Protests and strikes against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) are underway in various cities across the country.

Opposition leaders protested against the CAA, NRC and NPR in Parliament premises on Friday. All prominent leaders of the Opposition parties, including Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, were present at this protest. 

Meanwhile, protests by women continue at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, with Friday being the 48th day of protests there. People protested against the CAA in Jamia too on Thursday.

Protests against the CAA were held in multiple cities across the country on the death anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on Thursday. People formed long human chains and protested against the CAA, NRC and NPR in several cities.

Police arrested Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan and Kanhaiya Kumar during protests on Thursday. Meanwhile, protests and strikes by women - on the lines of Shaheen Bagh - against the CAA, NRC and NPR are underway in various parts of the country.
