Delhi Election: Last Date For Filing Nominations T
Tuesday is the last date to file nominations for the Delhi assembly election. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will file his nomination, along with various other leaders, on the last day. Kejriwal had been unable to file his nomination due to a roadshow on Monday.

Meanwhile, late on Monday night, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had released the second list of 10 candidates and the Congress had come out with a list of seven candidates.

In this list, the BJP has fielded Sunil Yadav and the Congress has fielded Romesh Sabharwal against Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat.

While Sunil Yadav is president of the Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha, Romesh Sabharwal - who started his political journey with the National Students’ Union of India - has been with the Congress for the last 40 years.

Till now, the BJP has finalised 67 candidates and the Congress has finalised 61 candidates. Out of the remaining three seats, BJP has left two seats for Janata Dal (United) and one for Lok Janshakti Party.

Meanwhile, National Democratic Alliance partner Shiromani Akali Dal has announced that it will not contest the Delhi elections on account of the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Polling for the assembly elections in Delhi will be held on February 8 and the results will be declared on February 11.
