Delhi Election: Last Date To Withdraw Nominations;
All parties have stepped up campaigning for the Delhi assembly elections. The three main parties - Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress - have begun organising rallies and roadshows for their candidates.

There will be three rallies by Home Minister Amit Shah and two rallies by BJP President J P Nadda in Delhi on Friday. Apart from this, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi and the biggest campaigner for AAP, will also conduct roadshows in several areas of Delhi on Friday.

Earlier, Shah and Nadda had organised rallies in Delhi on Thursday as well, and Kejriwal had also conducted a road show.

The Congress has fielded 40 star campaigners, including Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, in the Delhi assembly elections.

Friday is the last date to withdraw nominations for the elections and it will be clear by late evening how many candidates are in the fray.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has asked for a report within 24 hours from Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer on a tweet by Kapil Mishra, BJP leader and BJP candidate from Model Town.

The Returning Officer has sent a notice to Mishra on that tweet, written on Thursday, in which Mishra had said that “India and Pakistan will compete on the streets of Delhi on February 8.”

Elections will be held in Delhi on February 8 and the results will be declared on February 11.
