After Mumbai, the novel coronavirus is wreaking havoc in the national capital Delhi. Now Suresh Kumar, the Medical Director of the Delhi government's biggest corona hospital, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash, has fallen victim to the virus. Apart from these, two other staff of the hospital are also infected. According to the media reports, the OSD of the director of GTB Hospital has also tested positive.

AIIMS is also battling coronavirus in Delhi where its 62 staff members have fallen victim to the virus in the last three days. From February 1 to May 28, more than two hundred staff members of AIIMS were caught in corona’s grip. These include resident doctors, besides nurses, laboratory staff, technicians, cleaning staff, and security guards. Resident Doctor Association of AIIMS has written several letters regarding the safety of its staff, but in spite of this, the situation is getting worse.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Government has increased the capacity to treat corona patients in the capital. GTB Hospital with a capacity of 500 beds has been declared as a corona hospital. Earlier, 2000-bed LNJP, 500-bed Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital, 200-bed Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, and 200-bed Satyavati Raja Harishchandra Hospital have been declared corona hospitals.
