Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya Cases On The Rise In
The Delhi government has spent crores of rupees on various campaigns to rid Delhi of diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. But official figures show that there has not been much improvement in cases of these diseases in the Capital.

Despite all efforts by the government, cases of dengue, malaria, and chikungunya are increasing rapidly in Delhi. In fact, malaria and chikungunya have left behind figures of last year. While cases of dengue have fallen a bit this year, there has not been a substantial improvement in dengue cases.

According to the latest report released by Delhi Municipal Corporation (DMC), 65 new cases of dengue have come to light in September. This year, till now, up to 171 cases of dengue have been reported in Delhi. Last year, in the month of September, 282 cases of dengue had been reported. Meanwhile, malaria and chikungunya are also spreading fast.

In the past month, 64 new cases of malaria have been reported in Delhi. Till September this year, 368 cases of malaria have come to light, whereas last year, till September, 308 cases had been reported.

Speaking of fast-spreading chikungunya in Delhi, in just one week, 13 cases of chikungunya have been reported. Overall, till September this year, 87 cases have come to light, while till September last year, 79 cases had been reported in Delhi.

This condition prevails despite the Delhi government’s mega campaign named ‘10 weeks, 10’clock, 10 minutes’ against dengue. On the other hand, the DMC, on its level, is also organising awareness camps in various places against dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. Despite all this, year after year, malaria and chikungunya are spreading fast in Delhi.
