This year, at the annual festival of India’s top management institute IIM, Lucknow, the theme of the theatre segment has been kept as ‘modern Ramayana’.

Students of IIM and the country’s other management institutes will be seen performing the Ramleela at the annual festival.

On the occasion of Chhoti Diwali, in Ayodhya, Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman had been shown getting down from a modern ‘Pushpak vimaan’ or helicopter. The same sight can now be seen at the annual festival of India’s top management institute IIM, Lucknow.

There is a separate segment for theatre in the annual fest of IIM, Lucknow, which will be held from November 15-17.

The theme of the theatre has been kept as ‘Ramayana -- Adaptations in the 21st Century’. Teams of IIM and the country’s well-known management colleges will participate in the event. The sponsor of this theatre is Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi government.

The cultural wing of IIM Lucknow said that a Ramayana-based event has been included in the fest to help connect youth with cultural values. The aim of IIM Lucknow and the Yogi government is to take Ramayana to the current generation through staging modern Ramayana.
