India-China Clash: 76 Indian Soldiers Injured, Chi
China on Thursday evening released 10 Indian soldiers who were captured during the violent clash in Ladakh ’s Galwan Valley on the night of June 15 and 16.

These include one Lieutenant Colonel and three Majors who were freed after talks at the Major-General level that continued for the second day on Thursday. It is believed that no Indian soldier is in the custody of Chinese troops.

Apart from the death of 20 soldiers in the bloody conflict between India and China, 78 soldiers were also injured, some of whom are being treated in Leh Hospital.

The Army also clarified that no Indian troop is critical and no one is ‘missing in action’. It added that the jawans will soon return to duty as soon as they are discharged from the hospital.

Meanwhile, the US has broken the silence on the entire controversy. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, "We extend our deepest condolences to the people of India for the lives lost as a result of the recent confrontation with China,” US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a tweet, hours after his meeting with top Chinese diplomat Yang Jiechi.

“We will remember the soldiers’ families, loved ones, and communities as they grieve,” said Pompeo.

Along with showing solidarity with India, the US is also trying to warm up its relations with China. On Wednesday, Mike Pompeo held a meeting with Jiechi in Hawaii for several hours and had dinner together.
