India-China Clash: What Chinese Media Is Reporting
In the violent clash between India and China in the Galwan Valley on the night of June 15-16, at least 20 Indian Army men were killed, but the Chinese government is yet to disclose details over the death of their soldiers.

Meanwhile, China has repeatedly blamed India instead of acknowledging its role in the conflict. The Chinese media has also been continuously pointing fingers at India, alleging that the Indian Army crossed over into the Chinese territory and caused trouble.

People's Daily, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of China, reported “the fatal clash in the China-India border region on Monday is the most severe in decades, and it is a provocative military operation staged by Indian troops to capture Chinese territory and shift domestic pressure.”

Hu Shijin, editor-in-chief of the state-run tabloid Global Times, tweeted, "Based on what I know, Chinese side also suffered casualties in the Galwan Valley physical clash. I want to tell the Indian side, don’t be arrogant and misread China’s restraint as being weak. China doesn’t want to have a clash with India, but we don’t fear it.”

Meanwhile, China's official news channel CGTN has said that India needs to immediately refrain from its strategy of regional aggression.

Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar has spoken to his Chinese counterpart over the phone and has tried to diffuse the tension through dialogue.
