India COVID-19 Cases Cross 10,000, Maharashtra Rec
In view of the increase in the number of coronavirus patients, PM Modi has extended the lockdown in the country till May 3.

According to the latest data from the Health Ministry, the total number of coronavirus patients in the country has reached 10,363 and the total number of active patients stands at 8,988.


While 339 people have lost their lives so far, 1,035 people have recovered as well.

The highest number of deaths (160) in the country has taken place in Maharashtra, where 2,334 cases have come to light and 217 people have recovered too.

In Madhya Pradesh, there have been 43 deaths. The total number of patients here is 604 and 44 patients have recovered.

In Delhi, 28 people have lost their lives so far due to coronavirus. The total number of patients here is 1,510 and 30 patients have been discharged.

In Gujarat, 26 people have died. Over here, 539 cases have been registered and 54 patients have recovered.

In Telangana, while 16 people have lost their lives so far, 100 have recovered as well. A total of 562 people have contracted the coronavirus here. 

In Tamil Nadu, 1,173 cases have come to light. While 11 people have died, 58 patients have been discharged as well.

In Punjab, 11 people have died. Over here, a total of 167 cases have been registered and 14 people have recovered.

In Andhra Pradesh, seven people have lost their lives so far. While 11 people have recovered, a total of 427 people have contracted the coronavirus here.

In West Bengal, seven people have died. While 190 cases have been registered, 36 people have recovered here.

In Karnataka, six people have died. Over here, a total of 247 cases have been registered and 59 patients have been discharged as well.

In Uttar Pradesh, a total of 558 cases have come to light so far. While 49 people have recovered here, five patients have died.

In Jammu and Kashmir, there have been four deaths. While 16 people have recovered, the total number of patients here is 270.

In Rajasthan and Haryana, there have been three deaths each. In Rajasthan 873 people and in Haryana 185 people have contracted the coronavirus.

There have been two deaths each in Kerala and Jharkhand. In Kerala 376 cases and in Jharkhand 24 cases have been registered.

Apart from this, there has been one death each in Bihar, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Assam due to the coronavirus.

The coronavirus has taken 31 states across the country in its grip so far and a rapid increase is being registered in the number of patients.
