India's First 'Garbage Cafe' Opens In Chhattisgarh
Bring plastic and eat to your heart’s content. This might seem a little odd to you but it is true. In Chhattisgarh’s Ambikapur, a ‘Garbage Cafe’ has opened from today. This cafe is unique because it is India’s first cafe where people bringing in plastic waste will be given wholesome meals and snacks in return.
This is an initiative by Ambikapur Municipal Corporation to make the town plastic-free. Chhattisgarh’s Ambikapur is number one in terms of cleanliness.
In the cafe, taking one kg of plastic will get you a meal and half kg of plastic will get you snacks. Garbage caused by plastic is the biggest problem in the country. The scheme to remove polybags and polythene from circulation has been going on for a long time. But Ambikapur Municipal Corporation has executed this unique scheme.
