J&K: 3 BJP Leaders Shot Dead In Kulgam; PM Modi, Abdullah And Mufti Condemn Terror Attack

The instances of killings of Bharatiya Janata Party workers in Jammu and Kashmir are not coming to a halt. On Thursday night, terrorists killed 3 leaders including BJP Yuva Morcha General Secretary Fida Hussain in Kulgam. According to the police, around 8:30 pm, Kulgam police received information about a terrorist attack in YK Pora village, where militants opened fire on three BJP workers. Senior police officers reached the spot after the attack. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where they were declared brought dead.

The police said that preliminary investigation revealed that the terrorists opened fire on three BJP workers, identified as Kulgam’s BJP Yuva Morcha District General Secretary Fida Hussain and activists Umar Rashid Beigh, Omar Ramzan Hajam, who hail from YK Pura. 

Police said that the investigation is currently going on and the area has been cordoned off. After the murder of BJP workers, PM Modi tweeted, “I condemn the killing of 3 of our young Karyakartas. They were bright youngsters doing excellent work in J&K. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief. May their souls rest in peace.”

Former CM and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah condemning the terror attack tweeted, “Terrible news from Kulgam district of South Kashmir. I unequivocally condemn the targeted killing of the 3 BJP workers in a terror attack. May Allah grant them place in Jannat & may their families find strength during this difficult time.”

PDP President and former CM Mehbooba Mufti tweeted, “Saddened to hear about the killing of three BJP workers in Kulgam. Condolences to their families. At the end of the day, its people of J&K who pay with their lives because of GOI’s ill thought out policies.”

Last month, a BJP worker was also shot dead in Budgam district of central Kashmir. A BJP worker and Block Development Councilor Block Khag was allegedly shot at his house in Dalwash village in Budgam.

In September, BDC President of Khag Budgam and Sarpanch of the ruling BJP Bhupinder Singh was shot dead at his residence. In August, terrorists shot and killed BJP leader Sajjad Ahmed in Kulgam in South Kashmir. On the 4th of this month, BJP sarpanch Arif Ahmed was shot by terrorists in the Mir market in the Akhran area of ​​Qazigund.
